Recreating a Beloved Style: A Custom Dining Table and Console Table for a Beautiful Florida Home

Apr 29, 2026

At SeawaveTable, many of our most meaningful projects begin with a personal story. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a client from Vero Beach, Florida, named Mollie, who came to us with a very special request: to recreate a furniture style she had fallen in love with in her new home.

When Mollie purchased her house, it included a stunning dining table and matching console table that perfectly suited the open-concept living and dining area. Unfortunately, those pieces belonged to the seller and would be taken when they moved out. Rather than settle for something ordinary, Mollie decided to create something even better—custom handcrafted pieces inspired by the originals, but made specifically for her home and lifestyle.

That is where SeawaveTable came in.

A Clear Vision: Warm Wood Tones and Blue Resin

From the beginning, Mollie had a strong sense of what she wanted. She loved the combination of orange-toned wood paired with blue epoxy resin, explaining that the colors blended beautifully with the rest of her home’s décor. The warm wood tones added richness and comfort, while the blue resin introduced a fresh, coastal feel that felt especially fitting for a Florida home.

This balance of warmth and coolness made perfect sense in Vero Beach, where natural sunlight, airy interiors, and outdoor living often inspire interior design choices.

Mollie also wanted the new pieces to be practical and scaled appropriately for the space. Rather than matching the original dimensions exactly, she requested slightly adjusted sizes that would work even better for her layout:

  • Dining Table: 72" × 36"
  • Console Table: 36" × 18"

These custom dimensions would preserve the visual impact of the original furniture while offering a better fit for her everyday living needs.

Selecting the Right Wood

To bring Mollie’s vision to life, our first step was sourcing wood slabs that matched the warm orange tone she described. We carefully selected slabs with rich natural color variation, attractive grain movement, and the character needed to complement the blue resin.

Choosing the right wood is one of the most important parts of any custom build. Every slab has its own personality, and for this project, we wanted pieces that felt inviting, elegant, and full of life.

Once we found the right materials, we shared options with Mollie so she could feel involved in the design process. This collaboration is one of the things our clients value most—being part of the creative journey from the very beginning.

Turning Ideas into Drawings

After confirming the materials and dimensions, our design team created detailed shop drawings for both the dining table and the console table.

These drawings allowed Mollie to review proportions, shape, resin placement, and overall style before production began. It is always important to us that clients feel confident before we move forward, especially for one-of-a-kind furniture pieces.

Once Mollie approved the final drawings, we officially scheduled her tables for production.

The Craftsmanship Process

With plans approved, our workshop began transforming raw wood into finished heirloom pieces.

Each slab was carefully prepared, flattened, and stabilized. Natural edges were preserved wherever possible to maintain the organic beauty that makes river tables so distinctive. The blue epoxy resin was then poured with precision, creating flowing movement between the wood sections and adding vibrant contrast to the warm tones of the timber.

As the resin cured, the tables gradually revealed their final character—coastal, elegant, and completely unique.

Throughout the build, we kept Mollie updated with progress photos and messages so she could watch her custom tables come to life step by step. Many clients tell us this is one of their favorite parts of the process: seeing the craftsmanship behind their furniture and knowing their pieces are being made specifically for them.

Final Reveal and Client Approval

Once both tables were completed, we sent Mollie final photos of the finished dining table and console table.

Her response made our day.

She was thrilled with the outcome and expressed how pleased she was with the craftsmanship, colors, and how closely the finished pieces captured the vision she had described months earlier.

The orange-toned wood brought warmth and depth. The blue resin added brightness and personality. Together, they created a set that felt refined, welcoming, and perfectly suited to her Florida lifestyle.

With her approval, we moved forward with shipping arrangements to ensure both pieces arrived safely and ready to enjoy.

Perfectly Matched to Her Home

After receiving the tables, Mollie shared photos of them beautifully placed inside her home.

Seeing the finished furniture in its final setting was incredibly rewarding.

The colors blended naturally with her interior décor. The warm wood echoed surrounding tones in the room, while the blue resin added a sophisticated pop of color. The dining table anchored the open space perfectly, while the console table completed the room with elegance and functionality.

Most importantly, the tables looked like they belonged there from the very beginning.

That is the beauty of custom furniture—it is made for the home, not simply placed inside it.

Why This Project Meant So Much

Mollie’s project reminds us that furniture is often about more than tables and dimensions. Sometimes it is about preserving a feeling.

She loved the style of the home she purchased and did not want to lose that character when the original furniture left. Instead of compromising, she chose to create something new that honored what she loved while being uniquely her own.

That decision resulted in two handcrafted pieces that fit her lifestyle, matched her décor, and will be enjoyed for years to come.
